Hey, I'm Dave.
Welcome to The Imperial Code.

So… who am I?
Well, I could start off by telling you that I'm 33 years old, I'm a bodybuilder, a qualified personal trainer and strength coach, and I come from a little island in Australia called Tasmania.
But… that's pretty boring and generic isn't it.
The truth is I'm more than that.
I'm a father to a murdered son… Husband to a mur.. oh.. shit.. sorry I've just rewatched one of my fav' movies. My bad. Couldn't help myself.
Where were we?
Oh yes… let's dig a bit deeper than the surface level crap and skip the small talk.
(And just to make it a bit easier for both you and me I'm gonna put them into bullet points).
I was an "athlete" in my junior days, stopped playing my favourite sport because of multiple head injuries at 19. Got a bit out of shape and decided to go all in on the gym… Now I look and feel (and act) quite different. A lot can happen in 10 years.
I'm actually one of the laziest people you will ever meet, just ask any of my friends or family members and they'll happily tell you. I've just been able to figure out ways to make hard things as easy and painless as possible.
Further to the above point — I have a unique talent of being able to fall asleep anywhere and at anytime. I've frequently fallen asleep in my driveway (isn't there just something so peaceful about sitting in your car in your driveway!?) and I imagine I could fall asleep standing up if I gave it a go.
I've competed in two international bodybuilding competitions and placed top 10 in both. And I will never compete again.
I'm addicted to playing chess and I'm a member at my local chess club with an elo in the 1600s (for those that know chess)
I used to have a terrible Youtube addiction and still relapse from time to time.
I have a beautiful girlfriend of 7 years and we do Wordle together every single night.
I'm an uncle and I love it; my older sister has 2 little boys and my brother and his wife just had their first, a beautiful little girl.
When I was younger I had no idea what I wanted to do for my career… that was until I met my old friend Gym.
I've traveled to Italy multiple times, United States, France, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Turkey, Peru. Back in 2015 (I was 22 at the time) I went into the Amazon by myself for 7 days and attended an Ayahuasca retreat and forgot to tell my mother and sister I wouldn't be able to contact them. Ooops.
I've lost 2 of my mates to suicide in the last 2 years and I want to help other men not only get through life but thoroughly enjoy it and get the absolute maximum out of themselves.
I'm a staunch Arsenal FC fan and I'm currently on cloud 9 because we just won our first Premier League title in 22 years.
I eat the same meals pretty much every day and I love it because of the way it makes me look and feel.
I'm an avid reader of fiction and non-fiction and my favourite book series is Dune. I also love the films and can't wait for the final movie.
I'm a writer and I genuinely love writing. It helps me think. It helps me gain a deeper understanding of things I'm interested in.
I'm ambitious. I have big goals I'm working towards and I dream of making a big impact on men. Helping them get their bodies in shape and their lives in order.
I strongly believe that getting in shape and adding muscle and being lean is a literal cheat code to life. It unlocks doors you never knew were there. It opens up opportunities to make more money. It makes you more outgoing and socializing becomes enjoyable. You deal with stress better and can feel the confidence pulse through your body just being alive. It makes every day more enjoyable even when you're not doing anything. You could be going to the supermarket to get bread and milk, or walking past a shop in summer and catch a glimpse of yourself. Above all, it's simple. Not easy. But simple. Anyone can change their physique and change their life.
I'm also an avid golfer and I have a handicap of 9.2. I play every Saturday in my local competitions. My fastest swing speed (so far) is 121.4mph… it just doesn't always go straight…
I'm obsessed with getting better at things. It could be chess, golf, gym. Anything that interests me. I enjoy the process of improving.
I heavily dislike being on camera/video. I hate the sound of my own voice. And it's not how I can deliver my best. I like to write instead. I believe consuming content in written form is better for your brain. You internalize it better. You understand it better.
I also heavily dislike social media.
I enjoy taking risks and betting on myself. When I want to do something I default to thinking "what if it went right" instead of "what if I fail".
I believe you don't need much to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. And keeping things as simple as possible.
And finally, I truly believe you can do anything you put your mind to. You just need to realise how much power you really have over your mind and your behaviour. Once you realise why you do the things you do and the patterns ingrained in you. The triggers behind it. The habits. The thoughts you tell yourself on a daily basis. You can then direct and control it and point it at what you want.
So there you go. I could probably go for a couple thousand more words but I think that'll do it for now. A quick window into my world and who I really am.
If you want to read more of what I have to say, I highly recommend subscribing to my daily email list. You'll not only get a new way of thinking about fitness but you get exclusive access to my programs and trainings. I only offer these to the people in my world. The world of The Imperial Code.
I even have a little gift for you when you sign up. It's my 6 Week Strength Program. Everyone needs a plan when they're in the gym.
The goal is not to transform your body. The goal is to create repeatable systems and habits that transform your body automatically.
